AmberVault Passphrase Explained
A passphrase is an optional password that helps protect unauthorised bitcoin withdrawals from your AmberVault. While your bitcoin is already secured through multi-signature cold storage, a passphrase adds another level of personalised security.
How do I set a passphrase? You can set your passphrase when you first enter your AmberVault, or at any time via the security settings. Once set, you'll need this passphrase for specific actions, such as withdrawing funds.
What happens if I forget my passphrase? If you forget your passphrase, don’t worry! Your bitcoin remains secure. However, you will need to reset your passphrase to withdraw your funds.
Steps to Reset Your Passphrase
Contact support and request to reset your passphrase.
For security reasons, our compliance team may need to conduct enhanced identity verification to prove you are the account owner before assisting with the reset.
Once verified, you’ll receive instructions to reset your passphrase.
We recommend storing your passphrase in a safe and secure place to avoid any disruptions in accessing bitcoin in your AmberVault.
