What is a Lightning Address?
What is a Lightning Address?

It's like an email address, but for your bitcoin!

Updated over 8 months ago

Receive bitcoin to a static address that's easy to remember and unique to you, like an email address. No more need to copy and paste invoices or scan QR codes. If you can send an email, you can send a transaction to a Lightning address.

Get a Lightning Address

Craft your own custom Lightning address with AmberApp, your personalised gateway to effortless Bitcoin transactions. To get your Lightning address, navigate to the lightning screen and follow these simple steps:

  1. Tap the purple floating action bubble (+)

  2. Select 'receive' from the pop-up menu

  3. Tap the @ symbol, then press the 'create' button

  4. Choose any available alphanumeric combination between 5-15 characters

  5. Review your custom Lightning address then swipe to confirm

Note: Once you set your custom Lightning address, it cannot be edited or changed.
